(ANSA) - SAN COSMO ALBANESE, FEBRUARY 22 - A seventeen year old died late yesterday evening.
The event happened in SanCosmo Albanese, an Arbereshe town in the Cosenza area.
A team of firefighters from the Corigliano-Rossano detachment, returning from another intervention, was stopped by some motorists along provincial road 183 due to the presence of a body on the ground.
Emergency services were called immediately but there was nothing more they could do for the boy.
According to what was reconstructed by the carabinieri, the boy was on an allegorical wagon, pulled by a tractor, which, after a carnival parade in the San Giacomo D'Acri hamlet, was going to San Cosmo Albanese for another parade.
Along the way, the boy, due to causes under investigation, allegedly hit his head when he fell from the vehicle.
The driver of the tractor would not have noticed anything and continued driving.
The carabinieri of the local station coordinated by the San Marco Argentano company intervened on the spot and are continuing the investigations to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
The Castrovillari prosecutor ordered the autopsy.
