(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, FEBRUARY 22 - This afternoon the President of the EU Commission Ursula von der Leyen will travel to Palermo, Sicily and this evening the number one of the European executive will honor the memory of Giovanni Falcone, Francesca Morvillo and the victims of the attack on the Sicilian mafia of 1992 in Capaci.
This was announced by the EU Commission.
Tomorrow, February 23, von der Leyen will give a speech to inaugurate the academic year of the University of Palermo.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, the president will meet the president of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, the president of the Sicilian Region Renato Schifani and the mayor of Palermo Roberto Lagalla.
Subsequently, von der Leyen will meet President Mattarella for a working lunch at the end of the visit.
