(ANSA) - BOLZANO, 08 MAR - "First those who are illegal go back to legality. Then everything is discussed. Even the citizens of the Isarco Valley are asking for a clean environment and everyone is interested in transferring goods by rail".
This was stated in Bolzano by the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini regarding the restrictions on trucks imposed by Austria on the Brenner axis.
"If you have parked your car in the parking space for the disabled and want to discuss, first remove the car and then let's discuss how to redo the road system", he added "Austria first remove the bans for lorries, those of the night, of the Saturdays of the categories "I'm not sitting at the table with those who are beyond the law and the treaties. As soon as Vienna returns to the civil context of the European Community, we can think about everything: slots, tolls and barriers".
The minister reiterated that he "agrees with the German colleague to ask for the infringement procedure to be opened against Austria. I hope it doesn't come to this. We are in harmony with the German colleague and other colleagues to bring some common sense to Brussels , also with regard to the outlawing of petrol cars in 2035 which represents an enormous gift for China and damage to the Italian and European economy".
According to Salvini, "the models of Bolzano and Trento teach that green is fundamental, but it must be accompanied over time, explained and financed and not imposed by law".
