(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, MARCH 16 - "The formulation chosen for nuclear power is exactly the same as for the taxonomy. If we talk about clean technologies, we must concentrate on the most promising ones, but that doesn't mean not investing in the others".
Vice President Frans Timmermans said it when illustrating the Net Zero plan.
"Nuclear power is part of the plan," added Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton.
In the text, nuclear power was left out of the eight strategic technologies, but the plan envisages "support for" advanced technologies to produce energy from nuclear processes with minimal waste from the fuel cycle, small modular reactors". (ANSA).
