A Uruguayan tourist died after falling from a bridge near Bariloche

2023-04-05T23:37:46.107Z

The 21-year-old man would have slipped on the step over a stream. He was on vacation with his mother. In 2021, two tourists had already died in the same place.

A

young Uruguayan

was traveling with his mother and the woman's partner in the Bariloche area.

This Thursday, tragedy struck the family: the 21-year-old man

slipped when he was crossing the bridge over the Goye stream and died

of severe multiple injuries.

Without signs of "criminality", the main hypothesis is that it was an accident.

It happened on the bridge located at the

access to Colonia Suiza

, 25 kilometers from the center of San Carlos de Bariloche,

Around 2:30 p.m., the tourist, whose identity was not disclosed, was crossing the bridge laid over the layout of Provincial Route 79, with a dirt floor and

a place very popular with travelers

, who even take pictures on the edge of the railing.

There was already

a history of fatal episodes

on that bridge.

In 2021,

two other tourists

- one in April, the other in June - lost their lives in accidental circumstances.

That is the strongest version for the investigators: the young man

would have lost his balance

for reasons that are trying to be established and fell to the

stony bed

of the Goye stream.

He died from the severe injuries suffered.

In any case, the prosecutor ordered that an autopsy

be carried out this Thursday morning

to find out more details about the case.

Police personnel and prosecutors worked at the scene.

They managed to recover the victim's body around 5:30 p.m.

In addition, they collected probative information and took testimony from the next of kin.

The young man was traveling with his mother and her partner.

The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the autopsy is done and the death is communicated to his father.
