"The Italian authorities have just informed us that one hundred people will disembark from the Geo Barents after a transhipment to an Italian naval vessel off the coast of Sicily. After this operation, Geo Barents will go to Brindisi, the assigned port for the disembarkation of the another 339 people. One person was instead evacuated last night for medical reasons".
This was reported by Doctors Without Borders, who yesterday rescued 440 migrants on a fishing boat in the Mediterranean.
According to what was confirmed by the Prefecture of Brindisi, which has convened a coordination table for all operations for today at 5 pm, the ship's arrival is scheduled for the day after tomorrow, Friday 7 April.
