Arranged by the prosecutor Rome-Tivoli, investigations into the buying and selling of players. Salernitana: 'The current company is not involved in the investigation. Operations under investigation precede the change of ownership' (ANSA)

Pursuant to the orders of the Rome and Tivoli prosecutors, the Economic-Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza in Rome carried out searches of the offices of Rome, Lazio and Salernitana as part of two investigations relating to the buying and selling of football players.

The seasons under the scrutiny of the investigators are 2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20 and 2020/21.

In a note from the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office it is stated that the Gdf has "carried out a search order and simultaneous probative seizure at the offices of AS Roma SpA. The order in execution was issued in the context of the preliminary investigation phase (although still pending course), in the state of the current probative acquisitions and it is necessary to underline that, until a definitive judgment, the presumption of not guilty of the suspects is valid ", adds the Capitoline Public Prosecutor's Office.

The prosecutor of Tivoli, Francesco Menditto, states in a note that the "investigations in progress" concerning "SS Lazio SpA are not connected with others carried out by other public prosecutors".

Proceed for "issue of invoices for non-existent transactions and fraudulent declaration through the use of invoices for non-existent transactions" as well as for "false corporate communications against some people who, as mentioned, must be considered innocent until definitively sentenced".

The Us Salernitana 1919, with regard to the searches at the offices of some football clubs, including Salernitana itself, "clarifies that the current corporate structure is completely unrelated to the operations under investigation, referring the same to sports seasons that precede the change of ownership".

This is what can be read in a note from the company, which specifies that it has "extended its maximum cooperation to the investigative bodies" and that "it remains at their disposal".
