(ANSA) - ROME, 06 APR - Not only many Easter trips for Italians in their own country but also abroad through travel agencies after the long stop caused by the pandemic.

Over 1.2 million all-inclusive holiday packages were purchased from the network of Italian agencies for the week of Easter and long weekends, with an increase of +11% over last year.

The desire to travel across the border is the master, up by +23% compared to 2022, while Italian destinations drop by -7%.

It emerges from the survey carried out by Cst Centro Studi Turistici of Florence, the Observatory on Organized Tourism of Assoviaggi Confesercenti, on a sample of 532 travel agencies.

Overall, 4.5 million spring trips were made at least partially through agencies - for example for the purchase of single tickets or tourist services: over 2 million trips organized at least partially in agencies for Easter, of which about 553 thousand with a package all-inclusive travel, while for the Bridges there would be around 2.5 million trips undertaken thanks to the activities of the agencies, of which 675 thousand with a full package.

About 2.7 million Italians will go abroad: about 1.2 million (of which 444,000 with the full package) for Easter, and 1.5 million - of which 543,000 with the package - for the Spring Bridges.
