(ANSA) - ROME, 06 APR - At the level of average prices in 2022 compared to 2021, that of electricity grew by over 100%, while that of gas increased by 57%.
This is what emerges from ENEA's latest quarterly report which underlines how: "beyond the short term, high prices remain a serious threat to the competitiveness of European industry" but that "The gas consumption containment plan and the record prices of the energy have contracted the demand for gas and electricity and guaranteed acceptable capacity margins both in the electricity system and in the gas system, despite the fact that 1/4 of imports in 2021 fell short".
