Expenditure on the single allowance for dependent children
between March 2022 and February 2023 exceeded 15.2 billion euros.
This can be read in the Observatory on the INPS single check according to which there were payments of more than 1.2 billion euros per month in 2022 and more than 1.4 billion per month for the first two months of 2023 , with reference to an average of 5.3 million applicants and 8.5 million children a month.
A further 721.2 million were disbursed for dependent children of citizens' income beneficiaries (about 357,000 households per month receiving CIs, with reference to 589,000 children per month).
The total expenditure including supplements for families with the Citizenship Income in 12 months was close to 16 billion.
The amounts of the allowance (and the related Isee thresholds) for 2023 have been adjusted for inflation (8.1%).
The average monthly amount for each child (excluding families with Rdc) goes from 146 euros in 2022 to 165 euros in 2023. The average amount per applicant goes from 233 to 262 euros.
The amounts vary significantly depending on the number of children with an average of 146 euros in February 2022 in the case of only one child and an average of 1,816 euros in the case of families with at least six children.
