The municipality of Rehovot, through Heller, began building dormitories for students in the city of Rehovot, with the aim of helping them study and live in the city at a reasonable price.

The construction, which is expected to last about two years, will be carried out to a particularly high standard that has not yet been seen in Israel for students - and will include 500 housing units and about 1,100 square meters of commercial space. The construction

and operation is carried out by the Solel Bona Housing and Construction Company, which won the DBOT model project for the establishment of student dormitories, near the Weizmann Institute of Science and the Faculty of Agriculture at the Atzel junction - Derech Hayam.

The area of the project covers about 4 dunams on Derech Hayam-Hatzel-Hamanof Street, and includes about 20,000 square meters built, of which about 1,100 square meters is commercial. The project will include about 500 housing units for students in a diverse mix of apartments Individual and shared apartments. The scope of the entire project is estimated at approximately NIS 260 million.

Throughout the city of Rehovot there is a concentration of academic institutions (the Weizmann Institute, the Faculty of Food and Environmental Agriculture of the Hebrew University, the Peres Academic Center, Ort College, a branch of the Open University, the Orot Israel College of Education, the School of Nursing at Kaplan Hospital, and more), which already today numbers over 13,000 male and female students, who are living in an orderly and up-to-date set of student dormitories.

As part of the assessments carried out for Heller, the expected number of students in the city in 2025 will be over 15,000 male and female students.

This is a unique project in Israel in the field of housing for students, highly attractive due to its location on a central traffic axis and convenient transportation access, close to all academic institutions.

For this reason, the municipality of Rehovot, through Heller, worked to establish the project in recent years - and now it is taking shape with the start of construction in the area.

The project guarantees students living in the city a 20% discount on the housing rates in the project.

. Malol, the mayor: "I congratulate the residents of the city and its many students for laying the cornerstone for this significant project.

The establishment of the student dormitories is a flagship project of the Rehovot Municipality, which provides a much-needed response to the growing and expanding young population in the city.

The location of the dormitory is excellent, very accessible and in a developing area.

The project will be built according to the highest standards in the field and will provide our students with high-quality housing, at a reasonable price and in a convenient location."

Nissim Salman, CEO of the Rehovot Street Development Company Ltd.: behind a project like this there is a lot of long work.
