(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 27 - Very first images of The Crown 6 with the new actors playing the roles of Prince William and Kate Middleton in the sixth and final season of the Emmy-winning Netflix series.
It will be available on streaming by the end of 2023. 23-year-old Ed McVey plays the role of young Prince William, while newcomer Meg Bellamy plays Kate.
Season 6 of 'The Crown' pushes the story forward into the 2000s as Prince William begins college at St Andrew's, determined to lead as normal a life as possible while he can.
Also beginning life as a college student is Kate Middleton of Berkshire.
The season will chronicle how the two first met on campus and struck up a romance, as it concludes this epic dramatization of Queen Elizabeth II's reign.
The series marks McVey's professional film debut following stage work at the Old Vic and Hammersmith Riverside Studios.
Bellamy (19) won the role of Kate after answering a casting call on social media and submitting an audition tape.
This new season was filmed in St.
Andrews, Scotland earlier this year, allowing Ed and Meg to experience and enjoy some of the places Prince William and Kate Middleton actually frequented twenty years ago.
