(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 27 - Fostering the widespread reception of migrants through the Extraordinary Reception Centers (Cas) and the Reception and Integration System (Sai), categorically excluding the creation of large structures, as regards the Permanence and Repatriation Centers (Cpr).
This is what was proposed by the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, at the Conference of Regions after today's meeting with the governors, together with the Minister of Civil Protection, Nello Musumeci, and the commissioner for the immigration emergency, Valerio Valenti.
According to what is learned, the upgrading of the very first reception hotspots in Calabria and Sicily will also be planned, for the triage of new arrivals.
But also a discussion table for permanent coordination between the immigration emergency commissioner and the Regions,
then proposed Piantedosi.
According to what has been learned, the Regions - which have accepted the proposal - would agree on a collaboration that follows the Ukraine model, as happened for the Ukrainian refugees.
