(ANSA) - CAIRO, MAY 03 - Today 468 members of the Sudanese paramilitary forces, including 7 officers, announced that they had defected from the RSF yesterday and had joined the command of the 55th infantry brigade in Kadugli, the capital of southern Kordofan state, affiliated to the 14th Infantry Division in Kadugli.
This was announced by the commander general Faisal Mukhtar Al-Sayer.
Captain Mahdi Muhammad Koko, one of the officers who joined the army, confirmed in a statement that he had disengaged from the Rapid Support rebel militia "in accordance with the decision of the commander-in-chief", and had joined the armed forces.
