The jury of the Cannes Film Festival (May 16-27) is complete and will be presided over by Swedish director Ruben Ostlund, who has won two Palme d'Or prizes.

The judging panel, announced today, includes Moroccan director Maryam Touzani, French actor Denis Ménochet, British-Zambian screenwriter and director Rungano Nyoni, American actress and director Brie Larson, American actor Paul Dano, Afghan author Atiq Rahimi, the Argentine director and screenwriter Damián Szifrón and the French director Julia Ducournau who won the Palme d'Or in 2021 with Titane.


    "In this new edition, the 76th, the Cannes Film Festival wishes to welcome a new generation of artists who direct, act, sing and write", underlined the festival in the note revealing the composition of the jury.


    The jury will have the task of awarding the Palme d'Or to one of the 21 films announced in competition, including three Italians, Nanni Moretti's Il sol dell'avvenire, Alice Rohrwacher's La Chimera and Marco Bellocchio's Kidnapped.

The awards will be revealed on May 27 during the closing ceremony, led by Chiara Mastroianni.

This will be followed by the last screening of the Festival: Elemental, the animated film by Peter Sohn, a Pixer - Disney work out of competition.
