Two years after the first installment of Dune, the six-Oscar adaptation of Frank Herbert's historical science fiction novel published in 1965, director Denis Villeneuve returns with
Dune 2
, whose first trailer has just been released.
If the first film was intended to be contemplative, adhering closely to the plot of the book, this new part of the saga will be resolutely epic.
The film will therefore narrate the mythical journey of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) who will unite with Chani (Zendaya) and the Fremen on the dangerous and sandy planet of Arrakis, to take revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family.
However, he will have to face a difficult choice between the love of his life and the destiny of the universe, and prevent a terrible future that only he can foresee.
The images suggest some romantic scenes between the protagonists, but also moments of revolt, mystical orders of witches and Timothée Chalamet riding a sandworm to rally his troops.
