"At the moment the work for the evaluation" of the third installment of the Pnrr for Italy by the
European Commission
"are still in progress".
This was stated by the EU executive spokesperson, Veerle Nuyts, during the daily meeting with the press.
Brussels is having "constructive exchanges with the Italian authorities" who, "where necessary, provide complementary information", explained the spokeswoman, highlighting that "it is not uncommon to take time beyond the indicative deadline, as happened" for payments to " Luxembourg, Romania and Slovakia".
"We will communicate the conclusion of our assessment when we get there," she added.
The Minister for European Affairs,
Raffaele Fitto
, underlines that "
it is clear that the challenge of the Pnrr is very important
because the percentages of use of European and national resources for the period 2014-2020 are not encouraging. For this reason the government is a phase of careful evaluation of the individual interventions. We are working to be able to have this clear monitoring and in agreement with the European Commission we will propose solutions for modifying the Pnrr to have the possibility of identifying interventions that on the one hand adapt the plan to the new scenarios, I am thinking of the issues of the great energy issue and infringement, and on the other hand understanding which interventions are completely feasible by June 2026".
The minister lets it be known that he has agreed a discussion with the Regions for the next few days.
"The government wants to have an overview of the various resources in the field - he underlines -, putting together the Pnrr, the new community programming and the Cohesion and Development Fund to have a single vision even with respect to the different expiry dates of the plans".
