A quick puff pastry and jam braid is the perfect solution for anyone who wants to make a sweet snack without spending long hours in the kitchen.
With only three main ingredients (jam, puff pastry, nuts) everyone can conjure up this delicious braid.
And if jam is too monotonous in the long run, then vary the fillings for the sweet pastries.
Here are some suggestions:
Jam:
instead of strawberry jam, just choose another one, like apricot or blackberry jam.
Nut nougat cream
: plus chopped hazelnuts or bananas - sooo good.
If you want a more elaborate dessert with the sweet cream, then nut nougat cheesecakes are the right choice.
Cream Cheese:
Cream cheese can also be used as a filling for sweet puff pastry plaits.
Sweetened with honey according to taste and covered with fresh berries such as strawberries and braided.
Another great pairing with cream cheese is lemons, as evidenced by the Cream Cheese Board with Lemon Curd.
Chocolate:
simply fill the braid with chopped chocolate or chocolate chips.
Top tip: the chocolate sticks even better with a thin layer of vanilla pudding.
Marzipan:
Thinly sprinkle the puff pastry with marzipan shavings, add the flaked almonds and you're done.
Of course you can also combine different fillings and vary them as you like to create new and delicious puff pastry plaits again and again.
That's how it's done:
These few ingredients ensure a true taste explosion:
Puff pastry:
2 packs (270 g each) of puff pastry on the refrigerated shelf
Strawberry jam
Almonds, chopped and toasted
1 egg, whisked
Molding:
powdered sugar
lemon juice
