"Sum 41 is going to be dissolved." In a statement posted on social media, Canada-based rock band Sum 41 announced its separation after a 27-year career. "Assembling Sum 41 since 1996 has brought us some of the best moments of our lives," the band said on Twitter.
The five members of the band, Deryck Whibley, Jason McCaslin, Dave Baksh, Tom Thacker and Frank Zummo, had come together to form Sum 41 on July 31, 1996, the 41st day of summer, which gave the band its stage name. "We will be eternally grateful to our fans, old and new, who have supported us every step of the way," writes Sum 41, which has nearly 9.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

It was the album All Killer, No Filler, released in 2001, that made them famous, including the title In Too Deep. Subsequently, Sum 41 won numerous awards such as the Juno Award for Best Group of the Year in 2003, or the Juno Award for Rock Album of the Year for Chuck in 2005.
But the end of Sum 41 is not for now. The band still assures that it will "finish" its concert tour this year, before release, as promised, their latest album "Heaven: x: Hell", and leave for a "final international tour".
