A pedestrian bridge fell this morning after being rammed by a truck and caused a total traffic cut in the Pilar branch of the Pan-American Highway, at the height of the town of Fatima, in the Buenos Aires district of Pilar.
The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. at kilometer 62,500 of the Pan-American Highway, where the driver of a dump truck of a road company did not realize that he had the elevated raft system and rammed the top of a pedestrian bridge.
As a result of the impact, part of the gangway fell into the rear area of a pickup truck that was driving behind the truck at the time.
The drivers of the truck and pickup truck were not injured, police sources said.
The highway was completely closed to traffic in both directions since part of the bridge was fallen in one direction and in another was suspended.
In the place, emergency road personnel of Corredores Viales marked the area while traffic detours were made through collector streets.
