This is one of the flagship measures to simplify public services desired by Élisabeth Borne. School scholarships will be awarded to eligible families without action from the start of the 2024 school year, Matignon announced on Tuesday, among several government commitments aimed at simplifying administrative procedures and improving public services. Depending on the level of the student and the income of the parents, they can rise from 100 euros to 1,000 euros.
"For the start of the 2024 school year, at the end of the registration in middle and high school, families will have no other steps to carry out or proof to transmit for obtaining and renewing school scholarships throughout schooling," says Matignon in its press kit published at the end of the seventh Interministerial Committee for Public Transformation (CITP) chaired by Elisabeth Borne.

"Beyond the impact on users, agents will see their tasks lightened, thanks to automated processing of requests. They will be able to focus their time on supporting the families who need it most, "say the services of the Prime Minister.
For the current school year, 739,181 middle school students and 531,594 public high school students are receiving scholarships. Education Minister Pap Ndiaye welcomed in a tweet a "social measure that is particularly close to (him)". The Prime Minister notably wished, on the occasion of this CITP, that the French could be called back by the public services they request by telephone.

"Today, scholarships are mostly applied for online. And not all families necessarily have access to the digital tool or the understanding of the process, "explained to franceinfo Cécile Chénedé, president of the federation of parents of students FCPE in Loire-Atlantique.
The government intends to improve the quality of public services at 10 key moments in the lives of French people, starting this year for five of them: "I become a student, I renovate my home, I lose a loved one, I come back from abroad, I establish my identity or that of my loved ones".
