The Minister of Culture and Tourism of Jujuy, Federico Posadas, said that the inauguration of the solar tourist train -scheduled for October-, which will connect the towns of Volcán, Tumbaya, Purmamarca, Maimará, Tilcara and Humahuaca, will mean "a before and after" for tourism.
The provincial official said that the formation "will follow the trace of the train that arrived in La Quiaca" and added that "they will be 46 kilometers that will connect five stations in the Quebrada de Humahuaca, from Volcán to Humahuaca passing through Tumbaya, Purmamarca, Maimará and Tilcara. "
"In this way," he continued, "it will connect to Humahuaca with thematic stations that precisely make up the characteristic that will be an electric train that will be powered by solar energy."

The new tourist product "will have lithium batteries that will be fed back based on a six-megabyte plant with one of the stations so that it can be fed back," he described.
Posadas stressed that the train will become "one of the most striking tourist products of Jujuy, which will be stationed in the ravine, which is also one of the most beautiful places in Argentina."
"So it will be, we believe, a spectacular tourism product that will also generate a lot of expectation and will mark a before and after in tourism in Jujuy," added the minister.

On the other hand, Posadas pointed out that "Jujuy is exploding in terms of tourism (...) We had a strong parenthesis in the pandemic and then the pandemic had a rebound effect, which we thought was going to be temporary but it remains over time."
Given this scenario, the minister said that they are "very happy, because the truth is that it is a beautiful province, which has a potential that is developing."

"And it is allowing," he added, "many Argentines to discover it. Many already knew it, knew of its magic, but today many inhabitants of this land depending on the economic context we are living, who are traveling around the country, have discovered a wonderful province. "
Connectivity and international promotion
Posadas highlighted Jujuy's "culture, spectacular landscapes and now also with a lot of new infrastructure that has valued this incredible province that is growing a lot hand in hand with tourism."

"This is how we already have an airport, we have routes, we are building the Lola Mora Museum, which will be the last work in life carried out by the architect Peli, which is one of the most famous in the world," he said.
The minister based the tourism growth of Jujuy on the fact that "connectivity with the rest of the world is normalizing, Jujuy is participating in international fairs; it is being promoted in five fairs in Europe and in all regional fairs in neighbouring countries."
"It also, obviously, has to do with the exchange rate. We are a very attractive destination. We have more international tourists than Brazil, which is a very strong figure in South America," he said.

Likewise, the official especially valued the work being done jointly by the northern provinces, which includes common presentations, interaction in initiatives and offers of integrated circuits.
