While going to the movies, a boy named Daniel had forgotten his child's wallet. Between the cinema seats, the purse went unnoticed for two decades.
After 23 years, a child's wallet that a small visitor had lost during a screening accidentally reappeared in a cinema in Hamm. With a Facebook post, the operators of the cinema had recently searched for the owner of the wallet – and found him.
Children's wallet lost in cinema turned up after 23 years
The blue wallet was stuck between the old cinema seats, where no one has noticed it for all these years. "During the extensions of the old chairs, we found this old gem," the operators had said in the search call on Facebook. "This wallet was probably lost by a Daniel in 2000. There are some DM coins, a sports youth swimming card, two lottery tickets from the parents and a few Pokémon collectibles in it."
Several thousand people had shared the search call for the find on Facebook, after two days the owner had already reported. "Thank you very much for your active support," the cinema said in another Facebook post. "In fact, we were able to find the owner of the 23-year-old wallet and it will return to the owner very soon."

Find: Old cinema seats removed – purse was in the crack
That found objects reappeared after such a long time, he had never experienced, said theater director Carsten Dunke of the German Press Agency. The cinema is currently being renovated and the wallet was found during the removal of old seats. "We had already renovated and replaced the seats in between, but not yet the first three rows," he describes. It was only now their turn.

At that time, the owner of the purse was still a boy
According to reports, Daniel, who was eleven years old at the time, was invited to the reopening of the cinema. "Dear Daniel, if you recognize this wallet and can identify yourself as the owner, we cordially invite you to our cinema for the reopening, so that the find can return to its owner after 23 years," were the heartfelt words in an update of the original search call for the find on Facebook.
