(ANSA) - PALERMO, 12 MAY - A detainee, coming from the prison of Agrigento, managed to escape this morning from the Palace of Justice of Trapani, while he was waiting for a hearing.
The detainee who managed to evade the surveillance of the prison police is called Francesco Adragna, 37, originally from Erice, with a record for robbery, theft and escape from house arrest. This morning he was translated from the prison of Agrigento to the Palace of Justice in Trapani to attend the hearing of a trial in which he is accused.
In addition to prison police officers, the State Police and the Carabinieri are engaged in searches. The forces of the order set up checkpoints and surrounded the Palace of Justice in the event that the inmate was unable to leave the court premises because of the controls. (ANSA).
