The work of the 66th Federpol national congress began this morning in Giardini Naxos, with the participation of about 200 employees in the private investigations sector. The work was opened by the report of the national president of Federpol, Luciano Tommaso Ponzi, who drew up a balance of the activity carried out by the federation and the results achieved. "Ours - said Ponzi - is a long story, which began in 1957. Allow me, first of all, to remember those who preceded us and today are no more, to whom goes all our gratitude for having transmitted to us that pride of belonging that has always characterized us private investigators".
Ponzi underlined in his report "yet another important result for the category, namely the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Higher School of Advocacy and the foundation of the National Forensic Council". "A very important protocol - he explained - not only for its contents, but also because it marks a fundamental step in the path of formal legitimation of our profession, which no longer recognizes itself in the false myths and stereotypes of the past, but rather claims, with pride, a profile so high as to be able to favor in the arduous road directed to the procedural truth, the effectiveness of the right of defence".
The president of Federpol then recalled the other goals achieved such as the agreement for university certification together with the first degree course in the "Tor Vergata" and Unimercatorum Universities of Rome and also the signing of a new national collective agreement for the category at the CNEL and, following the numerous meetings at the Ministry of the Interior, the recognition of the professional card, under construction at the Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato. And he concluded with an appeal for unity: "as in all the best families it can happen to have misunderstandings, especially when at the base there is, as in our case, a great passion. Yet, in each of us there has never been a lack of pride of belonging that has always allowed us to smooth corners and overcome divisions".
