The comic strip Le Monde sans fin , by climate specialist Jean-Marc Jancovici and cartoonist Christophe Blain, sold more than 514,000 copies last year, according to figures from GfK and Livres Hebdo. For François Le Bescond, editorial director of Dargaud, such a level of sales is "exceptional". "The book was offered en masse at Christmas, companies ordered it for their collaborators, teachers recommended it to their students, etc. The book has become unavoidable," he says.
