Jobs with a guarantee of happiness? Five professions in which people are particularly likely to be satisfied

2023-05-13T08:06:12.917Z

Highlights: Gardeners and florists are the happiest professions in Germany, according to a new study. People in marketing and PR are among the happiest employees in Germany. People who do full-time research to understand the world are more satisfied with their career choices than the average. The average salary of gardeners is 30,700 euros per year (florists: ø 25,700 euro/year). As a florist or gardener, you usually don't earn the top salaries, but people in these jobs are the wealthiest.

For some people, it's not just the salary that counts. They want to be happy in their profession and it should also fit their personality. Perhaps one of the following professions is suitable for you?

The choice of employer not only determines the external circumstances of life, it also has a great influence on one's own happiness and satisfaction. Many people, not only in Germany, but worldwide, therefore do not necessarily focus on a good salary. Rather, their own well-being is an important indicator for them. This can be seen particularly clearly, although not only, in the so-called Generation Z (born between 1997 and 2012), the majority of whom would quit a job if it made them unhappy.

The long-term study Good Work Project by Harvard professor Howard Gardner shows in which professions the most satisfied people work. We present the top 5 of them:

In 1st place are the florists and gardeners

The gardeners and florists have secured the surprising first place. Daily work with fresh plants and flowers seems to have a positive effect on mood, as 87 percent of gardeners describe their profession as satisfactory. According to the rating portal Kununu, the average salary of gardeners is 30,700 euros per year (florists: ø 25,700 euros/year).

2nd place goes to beauticians and hairdressers

Hairdressers and beauticians dedicate themselves daily to the care and beauty of their customers. They offer services such as hair removal, cosmetic facials, and haircuts – and are usually not averse to mutually entertaining entertainment. What all three professions have in common is that they have at least a lower secondary school leaving certificate and, at best, an open-minded personality.

According to the study, about 79 percent of hairdressers are satisfied in their job. According to Kununu, you earn an average of 24,700 euros a year, and 28,200 euros as a beautician.

Plumbers and plumbers are ranked 3rd among the happiest professions

In general, the skilled trades seem to perform well in surveys in terms of satisfaction. Plumbers and plumbers also describe themselves as happy in their profession (76 percent). According to Kununu, they earn an average annual salary of 33,500 euros (plumbers) and 37,600 euros (plumbers) on assembly or in workshops.
