Film producer Luciano Sovena has died at the age of 73. The news was given by the Film Commission Foundation of Rome and Lazio, of which he was president. "A great and generous professional, a friend of Italian cinema", the Foundation reminds him. "Ironic, sympathetic, open to all, he was for a long time CEO of the Istituto Luce and president of the Roma Lazio Film Commission. He had become the reference point for the world he loved: the cinema he always had in his heart and to which he dedicated his life".
Lawyer specialized in entertainment and communications law and copyright, Sovena was among other things a member of the commission for film credit and film review of the Presidency of the Council, from 2003 to 2008 he was CEO of the Istituto Luce, in the two-year period 2008-2009 he also held the position of president, from 2009 to 2011 he became CEO of Cinecittà Luce.

He also co-produced I colori dell'anima. Modigliani (Modigliani, 2004) by Mick Davis and starring Andy Garcia and The Merchant of Venice by Michael Radford with Al Pacino.
