Benjamin Gamond (23) died on Monday and his brother said goodbye to him on social networks. His family decided to donate his organs.

"Thank you for waiting for me!! Fly very high Torito!! See you again!! We love you!!".

The touching phrase was read on Monday around 18 in a storie of the Instagram account of Marcos Gamond, brother of the Argentine killed with machetes in Mexico. The image was a post from another relative announcing Benjamin's death (23).

Marcos, a doctor from Córdoba who was in the province of Neuquén, followed minute by minute the state of his brother's health until he decided to travel to Mexico. It was when they confirmed that Benjamin was going to be transferred by helicopter to Mexico City because he needed to be treated in a highly complex hospital due to serious injuries.

Marcos' emotional message on his Instagram account.

"How many good memories!! I keep them all in my heart!!", Marcos added in another post next to the emoji of a heart where he is seen next to Benjamín, to whom he could give the last goodbye. That same image is already part of his social media profile.

In the midst of the pain, the victim's family reported that he decided to donate the organs of the young man from Córdoba, whose body remained in the most important hospital in the Federal District of Mexico. "It was my brother's will and the conditions are right," Marcos revealed.

In that sense, he asked for "a transparent, neat and fast process" to donate the organs in Mexico and to allow them cremation to repatriate it to Argentina.

An A7 ablation was done. Seven organs of the young person will be destined to people who need it, according to the waiting list that exists in that country. The organs would be the two kidneys, lungs, pancreas, liver and heart, Cadena 3 reported.

This Tuesday at 18, there will be a mass for Benjamin in the Parish of the Holy Spirit of Cordoba (Juan Beverina 2015). There friends and acquaintances of the young man will appear.

Originally from Córdoba, Benjamin had 7 siblings. His family described him as "a beautiful, good, humble and friendly kid." He had settled in Tulum for the second consecutive year to work during the season in the gastronomic area of the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula and thus save a few pesos.

Marcos had told Clarín that in the past he had the same experience on an island in the United States. "They are usually seasons of 5 or 6 months. Since my brother didn't handle the language very well, he preferred to go to Mexico. Usually, when the season ends they go to Europe or the United States to continue working in the gastronomic area. But my brother preferred to go back to Argentina."

And he added that Benjamin wanted to "start studying English, tried a little physical education" and "had projects to continue learning other things."

When the employment contract ended, Benjamín and Santiago Lastra (22) – a friend who was injured in the attack – decided to embark on a trip with the money they earned to get to know the other coast, Oaxaca, on the coast of the Pacific Ocean.

Macarena González (29), Santiago's girlfriend and native of Necochea, joined the vacation. But two days after arriving at the new tourist spot, the destination tarnished all plans when it played tricks on them.

While they were enjoying the scenery and having lunch at a small restaurant on the beach of Las Lagunas de Chacahua, Cruz Irving Martínez Flores (21) attacked them from behind with a machete, without a word. Benjamin was seriously injured in the head and ended up in intensive care at the Angel del Mar Hospital in Puerto Escondido.

His companions interceded to save his life. In the midst of the attack, both received minor injuries and are out of danger. Santiago, cuts on his hands and a fracture. Macarena, deep cuts on the back.

According to Benjamín's family, Santiago contacted his mother, with the phone number lent to him by a nurse at the Angel del Mar Hospital, in Puerto Escondido, to update her on what happened.

Benjamín was 23 years old and a native of Córdoba.

Although the young man from Cordoba recovered there from hypovolemic shock, after suffering a lot of blood loss, he had to receive surgery for a neurological injury he suffered as a result of a head trauma.

During the afternoon of Sunday, Benjamin had been transferred in a helicopter to Mexico City so that he can undergo a highly complex surgical intervention at the Angeles de Pedregales Hospital. On Monday, he could not resist and passed away.
