30,000 copies sold in just four days. From the first hours of its release on May 3, French readers, for many readers, flocked to Virginie Grimaldi's latest novel, Une belle vie (Flammarion).
"This is one of the strongest starts of this year 2023," says its editor, Pauline Faure. The publishing house, a subsidiary of Gallimard, did not hesitate to bet on the success of the book, with a first print run of 180,000 copies.
A good life, which tells the reunion of two sisters in the house of their late grandmother, is thus propelled to the top of the best sales of the Hexagon, dethroning volume 104 of the manga One Piece, according to the GfK institute.
