"Are you okay? Too good." From the beginning of his interview with his counterpart Cyrus North, the youtubeur McFly sets the tone. However, according to the latest news, the duo he forms with Carlito is going through a complicated period. The two videographers announced on their social networks on March 4 to "take a break from YouTube videos", without specifying the precise duration. "It's been several months since the race for hyper-produced videos, guests, concepts, which we loved and practiced so much, no longer has the same taste," they wrote.
"There's something we've been feeling coming for a few months"
More than two months after this announcement, McFly is back on YouTube. Not on the channel he owns with his faithful partner, but on that of another player on the platform, Cyrus North. In a long interview of more than 1h30, he addresses various very deep, intimate subjects, such as his family life, mental health... and burnout, which pushed him to take that famous break with Carlito.
"There's something we've been feeling coming for a few months but it was super hard to realize what it was," McFly said at the beginning of the interview. The YouTuber evokes a frantic pace of work, which ended up having consequences on the mental health of the duo: "With Carlito, we are hyper involved in everything we do. Of course, we have great teams, but we validate almost everything. There's always mental involvement."
7.2 million subscribers, 332 videos published
The first video posted on McFly and Carlito's channel, formerly "The Fat Show," was released on December 19, 2012. But in 2017, the duo imposed a strict publication rhythm: one video per week. The two childhood friends finally decided in 2021 to slow down the pace and space a little more video broadcasts on their channel. Today, it has 7.2 million subscribers, for 332 videos published.

Their productivity has impacted their day-to-day lives, McFly explains: "Even when you take moments, whether it's weekends or holidays, you don't cut. We never cut. Even if, technically, we are not there editing or shooting, it continues to move (...) In all professions, it leads to burn-out."
"We will come back new, with new skin"
Carlito has yet to make an appearance since the duo's break. The videographer experienced "complications with the birth of his son, really boring stuff," recalls McFLy. On Cyrus North's channel, he promises a return of the duo on YouTube: "We will come back new, with a new skin. We're actually molting."
