Only eight of the sixteen candidates had a chance of getting a ticket to the semi-final. Tears flowed at the end of the "super cross battles" of "The Voice" broadcast this Saturday, May 20 on TF1. To decide between the talents before the first live, a fifth coach has made his comeback. Mika, impeccable suit and smile on his lips, came to put his grain of salt in the vote. His voice accounted for 10% of the final score, with the audience retaining control of 90% of the result.
At Nikos' request, Amel Bent opens the ball and challenges Bigflo and Oli. The first relies on David Dax and his "concrete vocal organ", who interprets "Living for the best", by the taulier Johnny Hallyday. The latter retaliate with Fanchon, their 16-year-old "bulldozer", who launches into a nice cover of "Et Bam", which Vianney had composed for Mentissa, finalist in 2021. Well done! The girl qualified with almost 75% of the vote.
"Get ready, because I believe your life will change"
It's Zazie's turn to send her UFO duo, Prichia, expert in beat box, and Mea. Their interpretation of "Best Enemies" is no match for "Eyes of the Mama", a hit by Kendji Girac, which brings luck to Kiona, to the delight of his coach, Vianney. As a player, he immediately returned the ball to Zazie's court, whom he challenged for the return match. At the announcement of the candidates who will compete, Amel Bent warns Mika: these are two monsters who will go on stage.
The first, Lummen Nae, sings Adele's "Set fire to the rain". "You tore up, man," Vianney congratulates him. Aurélien, he lets loose on "Caruso", incredible performance that leaves Mika speechless. "Prepare yourself because I believe your life will change," he says before voting for him. The fifth coach thought he was useless, he was wrong: his voice tipped the result and sent the storekeeper to the semi-final.
Vianney barely has time to recover from this defeat before he has to bounce back. To Benaël, who mourns the elimination of his friend, he slips: "We had a big sorrow you and me. We're going to put it aside and we're going to please people." For her part, Oli encourages Lady: "I want you to be a giant who bends down to pick up a flower." The competitor settles down, takes out his guitar ... But big bug: "La Bonne étoile", by M, does not want to come out. Coaches break out in a cold sweat. The butcher recovers and delivers a great performance. "You're a poet in spite of yourself," Oli judges when the music stops. Despite his stripping "I'll go where you will go", Benaël leaves the adventure.
"They underestimated us, the elders"
A duel of divas then opposes Marilyne Naaman, in Zazie's team, to Hanna, protégé of Big Flo and Oli. Climbing on the piano, the first interpreter "Mourir sur scène", by Dalida. The Lebanese takes the song, of which she translates a verse into Arabic. This suspended moment seduces Mika, but not the public, who prefer Hanna's moving performance on "I wanted to tell you that I'm waiting for you", by Michel Jonasz. The young woman can't believe it, goes from tears to laughter, overwhelmed by emotion. "They underestimated us, the elders," jokes the Toulouse brothers, who chain victories.
It would have been flawless for the siblings if Nochka had resisted Micha, a protégé of Amel Bent. The coach can also rejoice in Arslane's victory. "I don't like this end of the evening," grumbles Zazie, who ends by facing Vianney. She sent Robin to sing Richard Cocciante's "Marguerite"; he proposes to Jérémy the "Marylou", of Polnareff. She advises: "Forget the cameras." He encourages: "Keep it under your feet." For Mika, both talents have professional voices. The public chooses Jeremy.
In the participants, the pressure is mounting. Next week, the eight semifinalists — one at Zazie, three on Big Flo and Oli's team, while Amel Bent and Vianney keep two each — will face off live.
