(ANSA) - MOSCOW, 20 MAY - Western countries run "risks" if they provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets: said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko, quoted by the Tass news agency.
Grushko's speech follows US President Joe Biden's statement to G7 leaders yesterday that Washington will support a joint effort with allies and partners to train Ukrainian pilots on fourth-generation aircraft, including F-16s.
"We see that Western countries continue to stick to an escalation scenario, which carries colossal risks for them. In any case, we will take this into account when we make our plans. We have all the means necessary to achieve our goals," said Grushko, on the sidelines of the 31st Assembly of the Council for Foreign and Defence Policy. (ANSA).
