The sixth season of the nightmarish Netflix series Black Mirror will be available from June 15. The streaming platform has indeed leaked a first trailer of the British dystopia awarded at the Emmy Awards, which returns after four years of absence.

So five new stories, five "new nightmares, revelations, hallucinations, spirals and mental slaps" as indicated in the trailer video, two more than the last season, will be accessible and as always, viewable independently of each other. The concept of this science fiction series, imbued with a disturbing realism, is based on the anticipation of the power of new technologies and its excesses within society.
The trailer begins with a preview of the first episode Joan is Awful, a dark version of a Truman Show where the protagonist Joan (Annie Murphy) discovers with amazement that a streaming service named Streamberry, with a design very similar to that of Netflix, broadcasts a dramatic adaptation of her own life, with Salma Hayek as the main actress, who plays here her own role. The trailer continues with other clips from the season. The second episode, Loch Henry, focuses on a young couple who travel to a small Scottish town to shoot on a documentary and find themselves involved in a sordid news item. Episode 3, Beyond the Sea, takes place in an alternate year 1969 where two astronauts confront the tragic consequences of the mission entrusted to them. Episode 4, Mazey Day, follows an American star in peril, harassed by paparazzi, who faces the consequences of a hit-and-run. Finally, episode 5, Demon 79, takes place in Northern Ireland during the year 1979 and tells the story of a sales assistant visibly possessed and forced to commit terrible crimes to avoid a great disaster.
Creator Charlie Brooker said very promisingly that the series would "expand the parameters of what even" an episode of Black Mirror is. The cast includes Michael Cera, Rob Delaney, Aaron Paul, Josh Hartnett, Rory Culkin, Kate Mara, Zazie Beetz and Himesh Patel.
