Actually, Rewe wanted to evoke positive reactions with the joint action with the bottle manufacturer SIGG. But the customers are disappointed.

Dortmund – Anyone who shopped at Rewe by Saturday (27 May) was able to collect loyalty points from a purchase value of five euros. Customers can use the collected points until Wednesday (10 June) to pick up a reward in the form of a product from the manufacturer SIGG. However, the action is now encountering disappointed reactions.

Rewe promises customers a bonus through loyalty points – "not a good bonus program"

In order to compete with competing supermarkets and discounters, grocers try to win over customers with various bonus programs. However, customers often save little when shopping thanks to the advantage programs.

In addition to its Payback points system, which will expire in the future, Rewe has launched a loyalty points campaign with the bottle manufacturer SIGG. With a purchase value of five euros, customers receive one loyalty point. Anyone who has collected a total of 30 points can choose a reward from a selection of different SIGG products in the Rewe stores.

Among them are items such as bicycle reflectors for the spokes, a bike computer, a backpack and a lunch box. However, there is a catch to the promotion, because customers do not receive the bonus completely free of charge.

An additional amount of 3.99 euros to 29.99 euros must be paid in addition to the 30 loyalty points for the products. This is noticed negatively by some customers, so that a user on Facebook says: "If you always have to pay extra, then this is not a good bonus program".

Several Facebook users also complain about the quality of the very popular lunch boxes. Not only does the opening of the lunch box not work optimally, some cans are already defective (more about supermarkets and discounters at RUHR24).

Nevertheless, there is also praise for the cooperation between Rewe and SIGG. Many users are satisfied with the products, so that Rewe was not able to win over every customer for the campaign, but was able to elicit numerous positive reactions.
