Highlights: In a letter sent to the Prime Minister, the Minister of Construction and Housing points the finger at the Israel Land Authority. The letter follows a letter from the heads of the Galilee councils to the PM. In the letter, the heads accuse the Land Authority of restricting the development of settlements in the region. They say the move is hurting the growth of the region's economy and will lead to a decline in the number of people living in the area. The Prime Minister's office says the letter was sent in response to a request for information.

Following the article published last Thursday about the letter sent by the heads of the Galilee councils to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other ministers in the coalition, in a response letter sent this morning (Sunday) by Minister of Construction and Housing, Yitzhak Goldknopf, to the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense of the Israel Land Authority.

In the course of the letter, Minister Goldknopf details the steps and steps currently being carried out by the ILA that it intends to bring for approval to the upcoming Israel Land Council, which is composed, as the Minister takes pains to remind the Prime Minister, of representatives of the government and the Jewish National Fund.

"The Israel Land Authority, headed by me, is doing everything in its power to increase the supply of land," the minister writes, "and in the past two years has exceeded the targets set for it by tens of percent. There are many additional steps and proposals that we would be happy to propose, and with which I am working to combat the increase in housing prices throughout the country."

However, it is precisely in the lines that conclude the six-page letter that Goldknopf chooses to reveal the real reason why he sent the letter to the prime minister, and professionally, as in passing, writes: "It would be good to say that if there are baseless accusations by various partners in the government against the Israel Land Authority, the entire government, and especially the Minister of Finance, who is a major barrier to the implementation of quality housing plans, will be harnessed. For the success of these moves, which are not those for heaven's sake, and for the sake of our success and the success of our sons and daughters in building the earth."

In a letter sent last Thursday to the prime minister, the heads of the Galilee councils accuse the current policy of the Israel Land Authority and the Planning Administration restricting the development of settlements within their boundaries and harming efforts to expand the settlements in the Galilee, which, they claim, are considered the de facto realization of Zionism.

Smotrich is not the only one to attack the ILA amid the storm over the ILA and the heads of the Galilee councils. Minister of the Negev, Galilee and National Resilience, Yitzhak Wasserlauf, also addressed the letter, saying: "At the cabinet meeting held earlier this week, I put on the agenda the difficult situation of Jewish settlement in the Galilee and warned that if the government does not act immediately and significantly, settlement in the Galilee, God forbid, will collapse. I believe that Prime Minister Netanyahu will advance the issue and we will save the settlement in the Galilee."
