Being Geometric, in Forte dei Marmi the works of Velez

FORTE DEI MARMI (LUCCA) - Essere Geometrico is the title of the exhibition of the Colombian artist Gustavo Velez, visible from 10 June to 18 September in Forte dei Marmi (Lucca).
Entirely composed of monumental works, explains a message, made of marble, steel and bronze and set up between the waterfront and the streets of the city center, in dialogue with urban spaces and the surrounding landscape, the exhibition is the exhibition event that Forte dei Marmi promotes to enrich the city with great works of art in the summer, The most important of the year for the Versilia reality.
The nucleus of works by Gustavo Velez also represents one of the most important historical-artistic traditions of the territory, sculpture. Here, the greatest sculptors in history have always measured themselves with the stone materials of the Apuan Alps, including the precious white marble. Velez's sculptural vision, refined, geometric, essential and clean, both in lines and in plastic materials, which he chooses with great care, has made him a much loved and appreciated artist in the world. His research focuses on the abstract form and the surface always treated to enhance the beauty, uniqueness and peculiarity of the material.
In Forte dei Marmi the works will be installed starting from the seafront where Cono Geometrico is presented, while Forato is set up in Piazza Kurz, these are two imposing sculptures of 2022 in white Carrara marble. Afterwards, in the park of Via Spinetti you can admire Enlance Geometrico, also here starring marble. In the park in front of the Hotel Datcha is Ritmica VII, monumental bronze from 2019. In Piazza Garibaldi Velez exhibits Expansion Geometrica II in steel from 2021 and Dual, another marble work from 2022. In the central Via Carducci is located Ritmica II, a monumental bronze of 2019.
