Over the weekend, the Daily Mail reported thatKevin Federline, the divorcee and father ofBritney Spears' children, and their children, Sean Preston, 17, andJaden, 16, fear for the singer's life because she uses the dangerous drug crystal meth, and that they fear her end will be similar toAmy Winehouse'stragic death if she does not receive urgent help.
In a lengthy post on her Instagram page on Sunday, Spears pushed back against the claims, saying they were lies: "The fact that people are saying things that aren't true is so sad. It doesn't make sense to me that they say that." The singer also opened up about her painful relationship with her two sons when she turned to Preston and wrote: "Do you remember that every time you came to my house you walked into your room and locked the door? The day I told Jaden I wanted to see you again, I never saw you again. It saddens me because I tried so hard to do nice things and it was never good enough."
The singer accused her sons and Federline of spreading lies about her to the media: "You're going behind my back and talking about me. It breaks my heart. It's sad that it's okay to make up lies about me to the media. Why am I being told I have to rise above when everyone else is going so low??"

At the same time, Federline himself accused reporters from the DailyMail and The Sun of distorting his words and publishing lies. He told TMZ: "It saddens our family thatDaphne BarakandErbil Gonastidecided to invent lies and publicize the heartache our family suffered, along with the trauma of our young children," and continued: "Our family did speak to them several times. It was done in a dignified manner with love and compassion for Britney and the Spears family. Their lies and attempts to exploit minors are for clickbait and another disgusting example of where journalism is today."
