Not every job requires training. In some cases, you can earn quite a decent amount even without the appropriate qualifications. In an article at the beginning of the year, the job and rating portal Glassdoor had named some examples of comparatively well-paid jobs without training – and described where salaries are approximately. To date, the demand for skilled workers in many industries is enormous.

1. Sales representative or salesperson

Sellers are in demand in many industries. Many sales employees have completed an apprenticeship in the commercial sector, for example, or have completed a corresponding degree. But, as the article on Glassdoor.de continues: "Even as a career changer, i.e. as a sales employee without training, you have a chance of getting a job in sales." Then it is helpful, for example, if you already have experience in sales. "As a salesperson, you also need to be able to deal well with people and put yourself in the shoes of the person you are talking to," is the tip for applicants. Well-paid salespeople can earn up to 2,600 euros per month, according to the job evaluation platform. The average salary for sellers is 1,900 euros per month. In many other industries, too, career changers currently have good opportunities.

2. Assembly and production assistants

In vehicle or mechanical engineering and, for example, in the electrical industry, assembly and production assistants are in demand. "As an assembly assistant, you support assembly processes, for example the assembly of production machines or the assembly of products such as vehicles or machine parts," the article on Glassdoor.de also states. Working as a furniture fitter for a furniture store or a job as a relocation helper also falls under the term assembly helper. Depending on the area of activity, working as an assembly or production assistant can be "physically demanding" or the working environment may also be "noisy and dirty". Often, "one and the same work step has to be carried out over and over again," it continues. According to Glassdoor, however, "an attractive payment" of up to 3,200 euros per month as a production assistant or 3,320 euros as an assembly assistant often beckons.

3. Tourist Guide

If you are interested in other countries or in the history of your own place and enjoy conveying something to other people, you can apply to become a tourist guide. No training is required for this. "However, you should know your city and region very well and enjoy bringing them closer to other people," says the article on Glassdoor.de, among other things. English or other language skills may also be required or an advantage for an application. According to the platform, the average salary as a tour guide is 12 euros per hour. In addition, there is often a good tip.

4. Waitress or waitress

In the catering industry, there is a desperate need for staff in many cities – especially in the service sector, as the job experts report in the article. The trend continues to this day. Here, too, no special training is often required. However, a friendly demeanor towards the guests is of course an important prerequisite, "even when things get more stressful". In addition, in the catering industry, you should be prepared for the fact that you often work in the evenings and on weekends. It is true that wages may also vary accordingly depending on the region and type of restaurant, or there may be room for negotiation. However, the experts give the average salary as 12 euros per hour, which corresponds to the statutory minimum wage. Many service employees are also dependent on tips.

5. Babysitter

Even if you don't need any training to babysit, you take on a lot of responsibility in such a job, for example, if you put the child to bed independently, cook for the little ones or play with them at home while the parents are often on the road. Reliability and a sense of responsibility are therefore required. "In addition, you need to know what to do in an emergency, for example, if the child shows symptoms of illness," according to the important note in the post. Having fun with childcare is a prerequisite anyway. In addition, in the best case, you should already have experience in this area, it is also said on Glassdoor.de. A specific vocational training is not required, "but there are courses for prospective babysitters, which are offered by placement agencies, among others," says another tip. If you have the appropriate experience, you should also mention this in your application. Here, too, wages can sometimes differ by a few euros. According to the platform, the average salary for babysitters is 15 euros per hour.
