Amid the drama of the search for the tourist submarine Titan that disappeared into the depths of the Atlantic Ocean while en route to the wreck of the Titanic with five people on board, Netflix has sparked a stir over a seemingly insensitive decision to promote its new film.
The popular streaming network on Tuesday released a trailer for the new documentary "Breathe Deep," which chronicles the story of freediving world champion Alessia Zacchini and her Irish coach Steve Keenan, describing their complex and turbulent journey through the hypnotic but dangerous world of freediving.
In a timing that was described by netizens as puzzling and sensitive, the network chose to promote the trailer for the film, which is expected to premiere on July 19, and sparked a wave of angry reactions, in part because of the accompanying caption, "In freediving, one breath can mean the difference between life and death."

"I'm not sure this is the movie that should be promoted during the drama with the submarine," one user tweeted. "You guys have incredible timing," another user sarcastically added. "Wow, what legendary timing, and really not in a good way. You should learn to read the area," another user concluded.
