A moment after selecting judges for the committees of the Literature Awards, Minister of Culture and Sport Miki Zohar announced that he intends to appoint actor and singer Gil Sassover as a member of the Israeli Film Council, as part of the rounds of appointments to the various councils in the fields of culture.

Sessover, it will be recalled, was exposed to the public consciousness on the television show "The Comedy Store". Since then, he has acted in plays and series and presented television programs for children and adults. In recent years, he has been considered an artist who belongs to the right side of the political map and has a program on Channel 14.
Sassover's appointment is currently in the approval process required before each and every appointment.

Following Israel Hayom's revelation that Zohar will reform the committee for appointing judges of the literary world and appoint Benny Ziffer, Gadi Taub and Neve Dromi as judges, Israeli poets and writers began a protest, it was reported on Monday.

The three appointed by Zohar are considered well-known figures in the world of writing and literature, who are identified with the right, which led to a protest by "the writers and poets and women and men of letters in Israel," who announced that they condemned Minister Miki Zohar's attempt to take over the literature prizes in Israel.
