The rise of the second season of HOT's telenovela "Woman of Dreams" began with a behind-the-scenes telenovela, when it was reported that some of the stars of the series spoke out against the production because they did not get to star on the poster. Judging by the first episodes released for viewing, it's not certain that the production didn't do them a big favor. The rest of the cast loaded with familiar names "merited" to participate in a far-fetched family saga, which is not sure to fascinate even lovers of the genre accustomed to a low standard.
In its second season, "The Dream Lady" looks like a first attempt to find out on the ChatGPT search engine, "How do you create a series about rich and poor with stars and influencers?" The result is scrambled and impetuous, less soulful creation and more played slide presentation.
Producing a series like a computer program entails quite a few bugs: at least according to the first episodes, there are scenes in which the weighty climax passes as incidental events, while on the other hand the software freaks out and a normal conversation turns into a show of nerves within seconds.
At the center of the plot are once again the Moreno and Warburg families, and the boutique hotel empire for sale. A new dream that dictates the plot threatens the heirs of the business that the family company must be sold, otherwise the person who heads it will also die.
This season, too, is accompanied by business interests and family ties, in addition to tarot cards, the occult – which in any case is a shaky element to lean on, and when the script and the game around it are lacking in exaggerations, the confusion creates a lack of credibility and a lack of identification with the characters. So when in one of the highlights of the sale of the company, within seconds the manager of the empire offers to sign the deal, within seconds Angel Bonani announces that he is actually his father - and the deal is canceled, the contract is torn and they move on.
"Dream Owner" is also going for quantity this season, not quality. Another request from "With the Stars" was typed into the program, and thus an eclectic cast of Scout Grant, Eliana Tidhar, Yael Bar Zohar, Hanan Savion, Angel Bonani and Gal Malka was cast.
Agreeing to such a mega-gig doesn't exactly do the quality actors any favors, some of whom seem to have regretted appearing in it while waiting for their line in the scene. On the other hand, it is precisely the less obligatory names that manage to flourish: model Omer Nudelman turns out to be an actress in every respect, and the most refreshing thing there on the screen.
Technology experts warn that due to the uncontrolled release of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, entire professions from the content world will disappear from the face of the earth after watching "The Dream Lady." But the writers' guilds can be reassured – humanity will still need the human touch in television creations. Even in a daily telenovela.
