After nine years of marriage and one joint offspring, 79-year-old Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger and his partner, ballet dancer Melanie Hamrick, 36, are engaged, according to overseas gossip sites.
Although Hamric insists that the giant diamond ring she was recently spotted with in New York for the premiere of the ballet "Like Water for Chocola" is a "promise ring" and the two currently have no intention of marrying, sources familiar with the matter told the Mail that Hameric confirmed to her associates that it was an engagement ring and that the two were indeed engaged.

"She was very clear about what the ring meant and that she is now his fiancée," they said. "Her family also understands that they are engaged and is very happy for them." However, those in the know stressed that "the two have no plans to get married right now, but for Melanie, being engaged means a lot."
Jagger and Hamric met in 2014 during a concert in Tokyo and two years later had their son Devereux. Jagger has been engaged three times (including this time), but has only officially been married once (to Bianca Morena de Macias between 1971 and 1978 and has eight children by five different women, including supermodel Jerry Hall).
