Griner posted a series of videos Monday night from inside the gym where she trained, during which she spoke directly and openly about a topic that particularly bothers her and keeps her asleep.
Griner used her big Instagram platform to confess to her 216,<> followers how difficult it was for her to accept herself and the pounds added to her weight.
"What a giant! How, how, how did I grow up like that? Look at the size!" grieved Griner in front of the gym mirror. "A lot of friends asked, 'What happened to Lihya? She swelled a little. It seems to be good for her.' Yes, fine, good for me, but enough. It's not good for me like that, really. I won't give up food. Need to do sports, eat healthy. We must take care of ourselves. Must. Everything we eat is really, really fattening, it's 'a moment on lips forever on the waist.'"
In another video, she continued to talk about the issue, sharing her inability to accept criticism from her closest family. "As good as I feel about myself, I feel a lot better about myself when I'm a little lighter. I don't like this look. Not flying on it. I do like to be commented on. There are only two people who are not allowed to tell me that it is my mother and sister. I don't know why, but it's most annoying when they comment. Anyone else can comment on me, but not my mother and sister. Why is that?" she asked.
