Buren and its rainbow flags have been flying since 2021 in the heart of the Peyrassol estate, medieval commandery of the Var between Gonfaron, at the foot of the Massif des Maures, and the Cistercian abbey of Thoronet where, the same year, the artists of the effeuillé time, Anne and Patrick Poirier, were exposed. The oldest of this "vineyard surrounded by forests", planted in Grenache in 1969, and the first planted in Syrah, in 2001, by its ardent buyer, Philippe Austruy. Like a border between past and future, in a plant area of 850 hectares where holm oaks, white oaks, Aleppo pines, umbrella pines and maritime pines reign, or even scrubland on poorer soils, with junipers, broom, pistachio trees, laurels-sauce and laurels-flowers.
