The Association of Journalists and the Association of Media Workers in an urgent appeal to the Attorney General: "I have instructed the Minister of Communications to terminate the position of chairman of the search committee of the Council of the Broadcasting Corporation, retired judge Nechama Netzer, in light of a serious conflict of interest on the part of her husband and partner in the ministry, who defames the Broadcasting Corporation and calls for its closure."

The organization, along with media workers, wrote Thursday morning to Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara requesting that Minister of Communications Shlomo Krei remove from her position the chairman of the search committee of the Broadcasting Corporation Council, retired judge Nechama Netzer, in light of a serious conflict of interest.

The spouse of retired judge Nechama Netzer and her partner in the law firm, Adv. Arik Netzer, spoke out strongly in favor of closing the broadcasting corporation and defamed its employees. "Why do I have to fund the salary of Aryeh Golan and many like him who pump out their arrogant leftist agenda to us all day? If it's so successful, why hasn't it been hijacked for commercial channels? In fact, he can try his luck with the owners of the corporation after it is privatized," he said.

Adv. Amir Basha, legal advisor of the Association of Journalists and Journalists, notes to the Attorney General that "the appointment of retired judge Nechama Netzer to the public position of chairman of the search committee of the Corporation Council is tainted by a sharp conflict of interest and bias in light of serious statements by her spouse and partner in a law firm regarding the corporation and freedom of the press, including the closure of the corporation, threatening and defaming the employment security of corporate employees."
