Highlights: Jane Addams, who plays cynical record company woman Nikki Katz in "Idol," has something to say to those so-called "feminists" who claim that the controversial HBO series objectifies and exploits the women who participate in it. In one sentence, Adams, 58, tells these critical women to "go f***" because they just aren't listening. "I love the show, but today, for some people, you almost have to apologize if you don't like or do like something," she said.

Actress Jane Addams, who plays cynical record company woman Nikki Katz in "Idol," has something to say to those so-called "feminists" who claim that the controversial HBO series objectifies and exploits the women who participate in it, including lead star Lily-Rose Depp — who plays young pop star Jocelyn. In one sentence, Adams, 58, tells these critical women to "go f***" because they just aren't listening.

Some background: Even before "Idol" even aired, the American entertainment magazine Rolling Stone published a particularly negative and scathing article accusing the show's creators, Sam Levinson and Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye (who also stars in the production alongside Depp), of promoting a misogynistic and dark attitude that turned the series into "a rape fantasy in which the woman keeps asking for more, because it enhances her music," according to one of the 13 sources interviewed anonymously by Rolling Stone.

On the other hand, Depp and Adams only praised the work of the creative duo. Depp, for example, recently told the Australian edition of Vogue that the sex scenes in the series were "important" and "intentionally filmed that way," while working on set was "very safe and creative." Adams, on the other hand, was much more emphatic in a new interview with Vanity Fair, a magazine about the Hollywood industry. "I want to say especially to all these feminists, go f***. All the women I work with talk about their (positive) experience, but you don't listen. You're not listening!" the veteran actress attacked, adding: "I love the show, but today, for some people, you almost have to apologize if you don't like or do like something.

"But I don't care anymore, because that's one of the good things about being a woman with gray hair — it's almost like having a license to no longer screw up an account," Adams clarified unapologetically.

Either way, since the shortened first season of "Idol" was shortened and dropped from screens after only five episodes and the series is unlikely to be renewed for another season, it seems that the veteran actress' new onslaught won't change too much, while the scandals and buzz that the show has created are only diminishing, until they dissipate completely.

In Israel, "Idol" is broadcast on yes, HOT and Cellcom.
