Veteran singer-songwriter Esther Shamir received an award at the ACUM Awards ceremony on Sunday evening, and during her thank-you speech she spoke out against the legal reform.

"We need to be stronger than the wind (a reference to Gali Atari's song "Stronger than the Wind," which she performed tonight), like the song, because the country is in a difficult situation," she said at the beginning of her remarks, when she received a special award from the ACUM board of directors for her contribution to Israeli music and culture. "Each and every one of us needs to find a place to get through this period of not much love. We want this country to continue to be democratic and liberal. There is a danger of excluding women, and they need to express themselves wisely so that they never extinguish the female voice."

Even before the singer's statement, there was a slight embarrassment when Atari was delayed by about 3 minutes in going on stage to perform "Stronger than the Wind" at the ceremony, which Shamir mentioned in her speech.

Another winner of the ceremony was Tamar Yahalomi, who won the Notebook of the Year award. Just before receiving the award, she was photographed behind the scenes of the ceremony alongside her partner Sarit Hadad, who seemed to encourage her.
