The legendary actress came to Israel to participate in the Jerusalem Film Festival, which will open the film starring her, "Golda" • "It's much more exciting than any festival in the world," said the film's director Guy Nativ

Just before "Golda," the new film starring her, opens the Jerusalem Film Festival on Thursday evening, legendary actress Helen Mirren participated in a press conference in the capital, alongside the filmmakers and actors.

Miran portrays Prime Minister Golda Meir during the Yom Kippur War. The film presents Meir's coping with the surprise attack on Israel by Egyptian forces, her political decisions, and her conduct vis-à-vis an entirely male security echelon. Also taking part in the press conference were the film's director and Oscar winner Guy Nativ, the film's producer and screenwriter Nicholas Martin, and Lior Ashkenazi, who plays IDF Chief of Staff David (Dado) Elazar in the film.

"Peak excitement," Nativ said. "Helen came here really late at night and we're very happy she came here, at a very challenging time. It's much more exciting than any festival in the world to screen the film here."
