The route has fourteen bends, a straight line of 788 meters and two DRS zones, which favor overtaking. The sequence of curves put a strain on the cars, but also on the riders, who nicknamed the track "the turnstile". At the top of the standings with 255 points, Max Verstappen is heading for a third consecutive title. Winner at Silverstone ahead of Norris and Hamilton, the Red Bull driver is now 99 points ahead of teammate Sergio Pérez. At Mercedes, improvements to the W14 have allowed the seven-time world champion to climb back up the table. Fourth with 121 points, Lewis Hamilton is now only 16 points behind Fernando Alonso. In his career, the Briton has won the Hungarian Grand Prix™ eight times, and therefore has the opportunity to reach the third step of the podium.
